A global review of bat conservation
We wrote the ‘Bat Conservation Synopsis’ book for the Conservation Evidence project. This is the fifth volume in the ‘Synopses of Conservation Evidence’ series designed to promote an evidence-based approach to biodiversity conservation. The book brings together and summarises scientific evidence relevant to the practical conservation of bats. We worked with an international group of bat experts to develop a global list of interventions that could benefit bats, and then searched the international literature for evidence, which we summarised in an accessible format.

Following on from this, we conducted an international expert group assessment exercise through which the effects of each conservation action were evaluated, scored and categorised. The results of this assessment were published in Conservation Evidence’s ‘What Works in Conservation’ Annual Synopsis.
